How to treat uterine fibroids

Patients with uterine fibroids can choose regular observation, medication and surgery as prescribed by the doctor.
Uterine fibroids are a relatively common gynecological disease in clinical practice. They are tumors that proliferate the smooth muscle tissue of the uterus, and the cause of their development is still unknown, possibly related to genetics, estrogen levels, and stem cells.
Asymptomatic fibroids usually do not require treatment and regular observation is sufficient. Patients with mild symptoms are recommended to use drugs for conservative treatment, such as mifepristone and leuprolide, which may cause hot flashes and mild discomfort in the joints, and are contraindicated in patients who are allergic to the ingredients of the drugs.
If the fibroid is large, accompanied by abnormal vaginal bleeding and more severe abdominal pain, the intervention can be performed by myomectomy.
Patients with uterine fibroids are advised to seek timely medical treatment, complete relevant examinations, clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of a professional doctor, and individualize the treatment plan according to the patient’s specific situation. The use of drugs, need to strictly follow the doctor’s instructions.
