Intrahepatic hypodense foci are foci that are found to have a low density relative to the liver parenchyma on ultrasound. A hepatic cyst is a benign tumor in which a cystic structure is found in the liver and the cyst is predominantly filled with fluid water. Liver cysts are benign tumors that generally do not require any special management. When liver cysts are found, it is recommended that annual ultrasound examinations be performed to observe the growth rate and size of the liver cysts and to determine if there is any rapid growth in the short term. When low-density foci are found in the liver, it is also necessary to be alert to the presence of malignant tumors of the liver. It is necessary to combine the patient’s clinical symptoms, whether there is pain in the liver area, to determine the value of alpha-fetoprotein, and to clarify the diagnosis based on enhanced CT and other examinations.
