There is usually no time interval between pap smears and TCT.
1. Both Pap smear and TCT are used to screen for cervical cancer by examining the cellular pattern of the cervix, and they do not affect each other. You can choose either one of the two tests, or follow your doctor’s advice on which one to choose.
2. Cervical smear samples are taken by scraping the cervix with a spatula, while TCT samples are taken by using a sampling brush to collect the shed cells. Both sampling procedures are non-invasive, so there is no time interval required.
In case of abnormal results of cervical smear or TCT, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to identify the cause of the disease for targeted management and treatment.
