Depth of needle entry at the Chikubin point

The depth of the needle for the Chikubin point is 1 to 1.5 inches.
The Chikubin point is an acupoint on the foot-shaoyin-kidney meridian, a qie point of the yinwei vein. It is located on the inner side of the calf, between the Achilles tendon and the flounder muscle, 5 inches straight up from the Taixi point. Chikubin point can be used clinically to treat vomiting and salivation, calf pain, gastrocnemius muscle spasm, epilepsy, hernia, and tongue vomiting.
Chikubin can be used in conjunction with Fenglong, Jiaoxin, Taixi, Renyu, Yingu, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints. When needling, the needle is usually straight and the depth of entry is 1 to 1.5 inches. Patients who are extremely afraid of needles should avoid needling, and it is recommended to pay attention to local warmth after needling.
Acupuncture operation should be operated by professional Chinese medicine practitioners, do not self-acupuncture, in order to avoid injury to themselves, resulting in adverse consequences.
