Are all ground-glass nodules lung cancer sooner or later?

There is a lack of scientific basis for the statement that ground glass nodules are lung cancer sooner or later. Milled glass nodules are imaging manifestations of mostly benign lesions, such as old tuberculosis foci, inflammatory exudates, benign tumors, etc. Only a few milled glass nodules may develop into lung cancer. If the ground-glass nodule grows continuously, becomes bigger, has unclear edges and burrs, and the surrounding tissues are adherent, it is more likely to become cancerous, and it is necessary to carry out puncture biopsy and cytological examination to clarify the nature of the nodule, and if it is malignant, it should be treated in a timely manner. If ground-glass nodules are found in imaging tests, it does not mean that they will develop into lung cancer. If it is not accompanied by other symptoms, it is recommended to repeat the examination once every three months or half a year to observe the changes of the ground-glass nodules, and cooperate with the doctor to deal with any abnormality in order to avoid delaying the condition.
