Multiple small lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity are mainly considered to be related to enlarged lymph nodes. It is mostly seen in intra-abdominal infections, tumor metastasis, and lymphoma. When abdominal color ultrasonography is performed, the finding of multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity may suggest the presence of multiple small lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. For example, acute appendicitis, acute cholecystitis, acute pelvic inflammatory disease and other intra-abdominal infections may lead to enlargement of nearby lymph nodes, and the examination may reveal multiple small lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. In addition to these, malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract or abdominal cavity, which may lead to enlargement of the corresponding lymph nodes, may also lead to multiple small lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. Lymphoma, too, may lead to multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. Multiple small lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity is a pathologic manifestation, and it is recommended to go to the general surgery department of the hospital, improve the examination, make a clear diagnosis, and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
