What are the symptoms of monkeypox infection

Monkeypox patients can be categorized into prodromal stage, rash stage and crusting stage according to the progress of the disease, and patients may have fever, malaise, muscle pain, rash, crusting and other symptoms. 1. Prodromal stage: the onset of the disease is more acute, patients may have fever, malaise, muscle pain, headache, back pain and other symptoms, which may last for 2 to 3 days. 2. Rash stage: the rash can start after 1~3 days of fever, usually through four stages, namely, macular rash, papular rash, herpes and pustules, which starts as red macular rash of ovoid to annular shape, and soon develops into herpes, forming small pustules. The rash starts on the face and then spreads to the limbs, with less involvement of the trunk. 3. Scabbing period: a few days after the formation of herpes, the lesions can begin to dry, crusting, scabbing will leave a scar, part of the scar can gradually disappear. Patients with the above symptoms, suspected of monkeypox infection, should promptly seek medical attention, under the guidance of a doctor to clarify the diagnosis should be immediately after the isolation treatment, so as not to delay the disease or infect others.
