If you have a jaundiced baby, bathing the baby with Yin Chen water has some effect on relieving jaundice, but the effect is limited and cannot replace the medication to treat the disease.
Yin Chen is bitter, pungent and slightly cold in nature. It has the efficacy of clearing dampness and heat, inducing bile and relieving jaundice (dredging the biliary tract of evil qi and eliminating jaundice). It can be used to treat jaundice with low urine output, dampness and warmth (warmth caused by feeling dampness and heat), summer dampness, and itching of wet sores.
Clinically, in the treatment of jaundice, if the body is as orange-colored, belonging to the yang-yellow, Yin Chen is often accompanied by gypsum and gardenia; if it is cold and damp stagnation, hair for the yin-yellow, it is accompanied by epiphyllum and dry ginger.
Note that Yin Chen should be used with caution in those who have yellow color due to blood storage and those who have yellow color due to blood deficiency.
