It is effective in clearing away heat and toxins, subduing swelling and dispersing knots, and evacuating wind-heat. Mostly used in the treatment of carbuncle (is a kind of poisonous sores, occurring on the surface of the body, limbs, internal organs of the acute suppurative disease), scrofula, carbuncle, wind-heat cold and so on. Forsythia should not be used for those with cold spleen and stomach, Qi deficiency sores and pus clearing.
3. Wild Chrysanthemum: Bitter and pungent in flavor, slightly cold in nature. It belongs to liver and heart meridians. It has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, diarrhea and calming the liver. It is often used in the treatment of boils and sores, eye redness and swelling, headache and dizziness. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not yet clear.
