Huanglian and Agaricus Chicken Zihuang Tang is composed of 12g of Huanglian, 6g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 6g of Paeoniae alba, two pieces of chicken zihuang, and 9g of Agaricus, and is taken by decoction.
Huang Lian, Agaricus and Chicken Zi Huang Tang is from “Treatise on Typhoid Fever”. This formula is composed of Huanglian, Agaricus, Scutellaria baicalensis, Paeoniae alba, and Chicken Zi Huang, which has the effect of nourishing yin and lowering fire. It can be clinically used for Shaoyin disease (illness caused by external disease invading the Shaoyin meridian), in which the heart is irritable and hot (irritable and sultry), and cannot sleep, as well as for evil heat attacking from within, which injures the yin and blood and leads to dysentery and pus-blood (diarrhea with pus and blood in the feces).
It should be noted that it is not recommended to be used in cases of solid heat.
