Glutamate aminotransferase is high 140U/L, generally do not recommend to continue oral anti-hyperthyroidism drugs, but also need to be clarified under the guidance of the doctor whether to apply. The normal value of glutamate aminotransferase is 0~40U/L. If the value is high enough to reach 140U/L, we will usually consider stopping oral anti-hyperthyroidism medication, exclude other causes of liver damage, and actively protect the liver for treatment, and wait for the liver function to improve for further treatment. Common causes of liver damage include viral hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis, steatohepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis, and autoimmune hepatitis. Therefore, patients with hyperthyroidism who develop significant liver damage should be further investigated for these causes. In addition to liver damage, common adverse reactions to anti-hyperthyroid drugs include leukopenia and skin rash. A finding of glutamate aminotransferase 140 U/L should prompt medical attention.
