Helicobacter pylori infection may induce urticaria, and anti-Helicobacter pylori infection and antihistamine treatment are the mainstay in treatment.
If there is a significant increase of H. pylori in the body, it can lead to an increase in histamine secretion or damage to the gastric mucosa, which can easily cause allergies and induce urticaria. Firstly, the treatment should be directed at Helicobacter pylori infection, and the commonly used drugs include two antibiotics, a proton pump inhibitor, and a bismuth agent, such as clarithromycin, amoxicillin, omeprazole, and bismuth potassium citrate.
For the symptoms of urticaria, the main treatment is antihistamine, commonly used drugs such as loratadine and cetirizine. After the urticaria is controlled, the dosage of the medication should be gradually reduced until it is stopped.
If the urticaria is induced by Helicobacter pylori, it is recommended to strictly follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the use of medication, not blindly self-medication, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
