Lung nodule 8mm ground glass does not necessarily need surgery.
1. 8mm diameter ground glass nodule, if it is caused by inflammation and infection, tuberculosis infection, hemorrhage, scar repair caused by trauma, etc., it is generally benign nodule, and after regular anti-infection and anti-tuberculosis treatment, the nodule will gradually shrink or even disappear; a small portion of the nodule will exist all the time, and it is enough to do regular follow-up checkups.
2. Ground-glass nodules with a diameter of 8mm should be operated as early as possible if they are caused by primary lung cancer. However, if primary lung cancer has already developed distant metastasis or the nodule itself is caused by metastasis of malignant tumors in other parts of the body, the chance of operation is usually lost.
