Valsartan Amlodipine Tablets is Valsartan Amlodipine Tablets (I), which is a compound preparation with the specification of 80/5mg, i.e. each tablet contains 80mg of valsartan and 5mg of amlodipine; amlodipine is effective in the treatment of hypertension at a dose of 2.5 mg to 10 mg once a day, while the effective dose of valsartan ranges from 80mg to 320mg. According to the dosage of the above mentioned clinical trials, it is sufficient to use 1~2 tablets per day, and the specific dose of valsartan should be as directed by your doctor. The drug consists of two antihypertensive active ingredients, valsartan and amlodipine, which have complementary mechanisms of action in controlling blood pressure: amlodipine belongs to the class of calcium channel blockers, and valsartan belongs to the class of angiotensin Il antagonists. The antihypertensive effect of the combination of the two components is superior to that of monotherapy with either component.
Clinically the drug is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.
During the use of the drug there are adverse reactions such as dizziness, nasopharyngitis, diarrhea, nausea, peripheral edema.
It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to the active ingredients of the product, pregnant and lactating women, patients with angioedema, patients who develop angioedema at an early stage of taking ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis; if excessive hypotension occurs while taking the drug, the patient should be made to lie down and, if necessary, be given intravenous saline infusion.
