Cervical cancer is a gynecological malignancy. The causes of cervical cancer in the elderly are multifactorial, mainly including: human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, sexual behavior and childbirth.
1. HPV infection: HPV infection is the most important cause of cervical cancer, and HPV infection can be found in the tumor tissues of the vast majority of cervical cancer patients. Especially, research has proved that high-risk HPV infections such as type 16 and type 18 are closely related to the occurrence of cervical cancer.
2. Sexual behavior and childbirth: Certain sexual behaviors and childbirth will increase the risk of cervical cancer, such as having multiple sexual partners, being <16 years old at the time of the first sexual intercourse, having sexual intercourse with patients with penile or prostate cancer, giving birth at an early age, having multiple births, and so on.
