Difference between primary and secondary headaches

Primary headache is mostly caused by tension and anxiety without organic lesions, while secondary headache can be caused by cranial, nasal and other primary diseases. 1. Primary headache: It is a headache without organic lesions, and the common causes are tension headache and cluster headache, which are mainly caused by excessive mental tension, anxiety, excessive pressure, lack of sleep and other factors. Often manifested as bilateral or unilateral headache, the examination is generally no obvious organic changes. 2. Secondary headache: mainly due to certain primary diseases, such as craniocerebral trauma, hypertension, bilateral or unilateral headache, sinusitis, intracranial space-occupying lesions, glaucoma and so on. It can be manifested as severe headache, mostly presenting progressive aggravation, and can mostly be accompanied by epilepsy, cognitive impairment and other signs and symptoms related to the primary disease. Primary headache and secondary headache should be diagnosed by a professional doctor, not based on symptoms alone. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying the condition.
