The higher the hcg, the more likely you are to have a child with Down’s syndrome

The higher the hcg, the less likely it is that Down’s syndrome will occur. This is because the chance of Down’s syndrome is not particularly related to hcg, while the higher the hcg, the more likely it is that gravidity will occur. The higher the hcg, the more likely it is that a woman will have a gravid fetus. After a woman becomes pregnant, as the fertilized egg lays and grows, the gestational trophoblast cells secrete hcg hormone, so the hcg hormone will double every other day in the case of normal laying. It is not the case that the higher the hcg hormone is, the more likely it is that a Down’s child will occur, because a Down’s child does not necessarily have a high hcg. Therefore as long as the Down’s screening appears abnormal, then further non-invasive DNA or amniocentesis should be considered to further confirm the diagnosis, rather than drawing blood to see the specifics of hcg. Also in early pregnancy when the hcg hormone is too high, it is often necessary to suspect a twin pregnancy or even due to gravidity. In the early stages of pregnancy, the menopause is so short that there is no way to confirm whether it is Down’s syndrome or not, so at this time, as long as the fetus is developing normally there is no need, for other treatment.
