Is Flumethasone a strong hormone?

Flumethasone is not a strong hormone, it is a medium strength hormone. Compounded flumethasone ointment, a combination of flumethasone and salicylic acid, is commonly used in clinical practice. Compound flumethasone ointment is used for non-infectious inflammatory skin diseases that are effective on corticosteroid therapy, such as seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and limited neurodermatitis. Compound Flumethasone Ointment is a complex preparation consisting mainly of salicylic acid and flumethasone, which is a medium-strength hormone. Compound Flumethasone Ointment is contraindicated in any person who is allergic to any of the components of the product, in patients with viral infections of the skin, such as chickenpox, rashes triggered by vaccinations, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, bacterial infections, fungal infections, cowpox, syphilis, tuberculosis of the skin, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, acne vulgaris. Flumethasone is well tolerated and the following localized reactions may occur during administration, such as skin hyperpigmentation, burning sensation, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis and other adverse reactions. Note that regular medical monitoring is required when this product is used in high doses over large areas of skin or for closed use.
