There is no such thing as how to take bonesetter for best results. Bone marrow belongs to the yang tonic class of traditional Chinese medicine, can be decocted and taken internally for the treatment of kidney deficiency, or can be applied externally for the treatment of vitiligo. But any way of taking it needs to be under the guidance of a professional physician. Bone marrow has the effect of warming the kidney to help yang (warming and tonifying the yang energy of the kidneys), warming the spleen to stop diarrhea (relieving diarrhea by warming the spleen), and tonifying the qi and calming asthma (astringing the qi to alleviate coughing and wheezing). It can be used in cases of kidney yang deficiency, manifesting as enuresis and frequent urination; it is often used in combination with eucommia and walnut kernels. Secondly, tonic bone resin can be used for spleen and kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the spleen and kidneys) with diarrhea, manifesting as morning sickness, etc. It is often used in combination with Wu Zhu Zu, Wu Wei Zi and other herbs. It can also be used to treat deficiency of the kidneys (dysfunction of the kidneys, unable to incorporate gases), manifesting as shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing, etc. It is often used in combination with honey and walnut kernels. Note that since tonic fat and the combined herbs are on the warm side, it is contraindicated in people with yin deficiency and fire (deficiency of yin essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive deficiency fire) and dry stools. Adverse effects are not known. If symptoms similar to those mentioned above occur, it is recommended to seek prompt medical attention for standardized treatment.
