What’s going on with the left auricle paroxysm?

Paroxysmal pain in the left auricle may be associated with dermatoneuritis, acute auricular eczema secondary infection, purulent auricular chondritis, and other factors.
1. Dermal neuritis: mainly due to the inflammation of periauricular cutaneous nerve radiating to the distribution area of the auricle causing paroxysmal pain, the auricle may not have any changes in appearance. It is usually characterized by diffuse dull or sharp pain.
2. Acute auricular eczema secondary infection: the specific cause is unknown, often associated with allergic reactions, psychiatric factors, endocrine disorders and other factors, such as secondary infection, pain, temperature rise.
3. Purulent auricular perichondritis: mainly caused by bacterial infection after trauma or surgery. Auricular paroxysm may occur.
It is recommended to go to otolaryngology department to distinguish the cause of auricular pain and get timely treatment.
