What is non-suppurative otitis media secretory otitis media

Non-suppurative otitis media secretory otitis media 1. Hearing loss: Acute secretory otitis media can mostly occur after a cold, when descending by airplane or diving, hearing loss can occur, and there can be “self-sound enhancement” phenomenon. The severity of deafness often fluctuates in patients with chronic otitis media. Hearing may improve when pressure is applied to the ear screen or when the head position is changed, but hearing does not change when the middle ear fluid is viscous. Children mostly do not have complaints of hearing loss, but show signs of ignoring their parents’ calls, inattentiveness, or asking for excessive volume when watching TV. 2. Earache: In acute secretory otitis media, there may be mild earache, while in chronic secretory otitis media, earache may appear mostly when secondary infection occurs. 3.Sense of stuffiness or occlusion in the ear. 4. Tinnitus: It is generally not heavy and may be intermittent. When the head moves, yawns or blows the nose, the sound of air passing water can be heard. A few patients with secretory otitis media may also have water flowing in the ear, but the duration is very short, only a few hours or a day or so.
