Can you get infected if your glove touches your mouth during nucleic acid sampling?

The gloves touching the mouth during nucleic acid sampling are basically not contagious with disease.

According to the requirements in the “Workbook for Nucleic Acid Testing of Novel Coronaviruses in Medical Institutions”, sampling personnel should change the outer layer of latex gloves in a timely manner when the gloves are contaminated, and should carry out rigorous hand disinfection or glove replacement for each person sampled. Technicians engaged in sampling need to be trained and qualified before taking up the job.

There are also strict requirements for the setup of sampling points, with fever patients and other patients, and people who wish to check the exhaustion of the sampling area. Therefore, when the sampling technician faces the next person to be sampled, the gloves are already in the state of having been changed or sterilized, and there is no need to worry too much as no disease can be transmitted by touching the lips with such gloves.

When receiving nucleic acid sampling, it is recommended to wear a mask and keep a distance of one meter in order to avoid cross-infection. When it is your turn, wait for the staff to finish disinfecting their hands before pulling down the mask to accept the sample, and then put it back on quickly after finishing.
