Can pleurisy cause high blood pressure?

Pleurisy does not normally cause high blood pressure.

Most pleurisy is due to infection, and bacterial infection, other microbial infection is the most common, such as fungal infection or viral infection, and the clinical symptoms are chest pain, coughing, dyspnea and so on. The trigger of hypertension is usually heredity, increasing age, excessive salt intake, etc. The symptoms are irritability, headache, numbness of limbs, insomnia, etc. Therefore, pleurisy and hypertension are not related.

Pleurisy usually requires antibiotic treatment, such as penicillin, and aspirin if the chest pain is severe. If necessary, glucocorticoids can be used to promote fluid absorption.

Patients with pleurisy should try to avoid cold and flu, and should eat easily digestible and highly nutritious food, avoiding cold and raw stimuli.
