Cold fever is not the body in self-healing, usually because the virus invades the organism, triggering a series of inflammatory reactions. Cold fever is caused by pathogens and their metabolites inducing host cells such as macrophages and monocytes to produce endogenous pyrogens, which can raise the thermoregulatory center’s set point, causing the body temperature to rise. Common cold fever symptoms are mild, early nasal symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, etc., in most cases can be self-cured. On the other hand, influenza is mostly related to the season and usually develops in winter and spring, with heavier systemic symptoms and higher fever and body temperature. Antiviral drugs such as oseltamivir can be taken at an early stage after a clear diagnosis. Cold and fever are not self-healing. Drink plenty of fluids and eat a light diet after a cold or fever, and consult a doctor for standardized treatment when the symptoms are more serious to avoid aggravation of the condition or the emergence of complications.
