Compound Lidocaine Cream, the name of a western medicine, consists of lidocaine, proparacaine and other main ingredients. It is mainly used for local anesthesia of the dermis, including needle puncture, such as placing catheters or taking blood samples, and superficial surgical procedures. Compound Lidocaine Cream may produce local reactions such as pallor, erythema, and edema at the site of application, most of which are mild and transient. A few patients may experience burning and itching sensations during the initial period of application; very few patients may experience allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis after application. In addition, high doses of proparacaine can lead to increased levels of methemoglobin in the blood.
