Can you get AIDS from a tattoo?

Tattoos may transmit AIDS, but certain conditions must be met. AIDS, known as Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, is a contagious disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus infection, which is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission. Tattoos puncture the skin and cause blood contact. If a needle contaminated with HIV is used to puncture the skin, HIV may be transmitted through the tattoo. If it is a disposable needle, personal use, no contact with HIV, general tattoo will not infect AIDS. Therefore, whether a tattoo is contagious to AIDS mainly depends on whether the needle is contaminated by HIV and other specific circumstances.
