Patients with Liver-Qi stagnation (lack of fluidity of the liver’s qi) can be assisted by massaging points such as Taichong, Tanzhong and Zhimen, as prescribed by the doctor.
1. Taichong point: precise point, on the back of the foot, between the 1st and 2nd metatarsal bones, the metatarsal base of the combination of the anterior depression, or touch the arterial pulsation. It has the effect of calming the Liver and calming the Wind, strengthening the Spleen and resolving Dampness (strengthening the Spleen and removing Dampness). It can be used to treat head and face disorders caused by liver depression and qi stagnation, such as headache, eye redness, swelling and pain.
2. Danzhong point: precise point, in the chest, horizontal 4th intercostal space, on the anterior midline. It has the effect of regulating qi and relieving pain (relieving pain by unblocking qi), and broadening the chest and regulating qi. It can be used to treat heart and chest pain, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), heartburn, angina pectoris, etc. caused by Liver Depression and Qi Stagnation.
3. Phase Gate Acupuncture Point: Precisely located in the chest, at the 6th intercostal space, 4 inches away from the anterior midline. It has the effect of dispersing the liver and strengthening the spleen (regulating the liver qi and strengthening the spleen function), harmonizing the stomach and lowering the rebelliousness (regulating the stomach qi and making the upward rebellious qi descend). It can be used to treat symptoms such as distension and pain in the chest and ribs (a collective term for the chest and ribcage area) and heat in the chest caused by liver depression and qi stagnation.
It should be noted that the above acupoint treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, do not operate on your own, so as not to delay the condition.
