In adult patients, farsightedness and astigmatism cannot be cured and can only be corrected by prescription lenses and other means; in children, farsightedness has a certain probability of being cured.
Hyperopia is usually caused by the shortness of the eye axis, and astigmatism is caused by the abnormal shape of the cornea or lens. In adult patients, the development of the eyeball has stopped and the eye axis no longer grows, so adult farsightedness cannot be cured. Adult astigmatism cannot be cured, only vision correction. Adults with hyperopia combined with astigmatism can improve their vision by wearing eyeglasses, for example.
Hyperopia in children is more common, children are born with hyperopia, after growth and development, gradually vision is normal, usually do not need to intervene; if the hyperopia is serious, then need to intervene, so as not to lead to amblyopia. Astigmatism in children cannot be cured, and vision can only be corrected with prescription lenses.
Childhood is the best time to correct hyperopia. When you find that your child’s visual acuity is lower than normal, you should bring your child to a professional organization in a timely manner, and follow the doctor’s instructions to correct his/her vision if necessary.
