There is no medical term for trichomonas vaginalis, it should be trichomonas vaginalis. Treatment of trichomoniasis is mainly done with nitroimidazole drugs and vaginal douching is avoided during treatment. Nitroimidazole drugs include metronidazole and tinidazole and are used as follows: 1. First infection: Patients with first infection should take metronidazole or tinidazole orally under the guidance of a doctor, and the dosage and course of treatment should be followed and adhered to. 2. Relapse or reinfection: Patients with relapse or reinfection should take the same type of medication as the initial infection, but the dosage should be increased and the treatment course should be extended. 3. Pregnant patients: Metronidazole is the treatment of choice. At present, no fetal abnormalities have been found in the treatment of trichomoniasis during pregnancy with metronidazole, but the safety of tinidazole has not been determined. (1) Treatment of sexual partners: Trichomoniasis is mainly transmitted through sexual contact, so sexual partners should be treated at the same time. (2) Sexual life: Unprotected sex should be avoided until cured. (3) Breastfeeding precautions: For those taking metronidazole, avoid breastfeeding for 12-24 hours after taking the drug; for those taking tinidazole, avoid breastfeeding for 3 days after taking the drug. (4) Personal hygiene: To avoid re-infection, disinfect close contact items such as underwear and towels at high temperature.
