Broken tooth stumps need to be selected for crown restoration or extraction according to the length of the broken root and its relationship with the gingiva. For some traumatic broken tooth stumps, if the lowest position of the broken end is not deeper than 5mm below the gingiva, the root length is normal, and there is no obvious loosening, it can usually be retained, and it is recommended to restore the tooth with a crown after root canal treatment. For some caries-induced broken tooth stumps, the root tip is usually combined with extensive inflammation, if the residual wall of the tooth is located in the gingiva and there is enough support, then we can try to retain it, and crown restoration after endodontic treatment; if the broken root is already flush with the gingiva, or the residual tooth has insufficient support, we usually recommend extracting it. It is recommended to go to the stomatology department of the regular hospital, and the physician needs to recommend the appropriate program according to the conditions of the oral cavity, the patient’s economic conditions, and so on.
