Auricular deformity correction methods for auricular deformity

Auricular deformity refers to a deformity in the shape and position of the auricle. This deformity can be corrected by transplanting the auricle, injecting autologous fat, and advancing the suture to close the auricle.

1.Grafting the auricle. It is generally only used when there is a smaller range of damage to the cartilage of the ear. From the same side of the auricle, or the other side of the ear, auricular tissue less than 1.5 cm wide is taken with a scalpel and transplanted to the location of the auricular deformity to achieve a corrective effect.

2.Injection of autologous fat. This method is relatively safe. First of all, the filling material used is taken from the fat of the patient’s body, and there will be no rejection or immune reaction after injection. At the same time, it will not cause discomfort to the patient. The location and amount of fat that can be used is also relatively large. The effect after the correction of the auricle can be presented quickly.

3.Advancing suture auricle. It is used to repair a relatively small defect located at the position of the ear wheel. A suitable wound is cut on both sides of the defect with a scalpel, and then corresponding suitable wounds are also cut in the position of the ear boat and ear wheel, and then these wounds are treated with advancement sutures to achieve the purpose of correcting the auricle.

For auricular deformities, it is important to detect and treat them early. Don’t ignore it because it doesn’t look like a big problem and think that the ear will grow back on its own later.
