Chinese medicines for myocardial ischemia

There are many proprietary Chinese medicines for the treatment of myocardial ischemia, including Musk Cardioprotection Pill and Dio-Cardio-Kang.
Musk Cardioprotection Pill is a kind of Chinese patent medicine, the main ingredients of which are artificial musk, ginseng extract, artificial oxalis, cinnamon and so on. It has the efficacy of aroma and warming (using aromatic and pungent dispersing, warming the meridians and opening the veins to get rid of the cold in the body), benefiting the qi and strengthening the heart (strengthening the heart function by replenishing the qi).
This drug is mainly used for chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest) caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis (blood stasis due to lack of circulation of qi), pain in the anterior region of the heart, angina pectoris caused by myocardial ischemia, myocardial infarction, and so on.
Adverse effects include occasional numbness of the tongue when taken under the tongue. It should be noted that pregnant women and those who are allergic to the product are prohibited; athletes, allergic individuals should be cautious.
Di Ao Xin Xue Kang is a proprietary Chinese medicine composed of Huang Shan Yao, which is effective in activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis (promoting blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis in the body), and promoting qi circulation and relieving pain (relieving pain by regulating the body’s qi).
This drug is mainly used to dilate coronary blood vessels, improve myocardial ischemia, treat and prevent coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, myocardial ischemia and other cardiovascular diseases, as well as thoracic paralysis with internal obstruction of blood stasis, dizziness, chest tightness, palpitation (accelerated heartbeat often accompanied by panic), shortness of breath and other conditions.
Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not clear, and very few patients have gastrointestinal discomfort when taking it on an empty stomach.
