A bruise on the head after trauma is considered to be a scalp hematoma, and the patient will have obvious painful manifestations. For small hematomas, local cold compresses can be used, followed by oral anti-inflammatory drugs to promote the absorption of the hematoma and its remission. If the hematoma is large, severe hematoma may induce hemorrhagic shock with significant hypotension and cold and clammy appearance. The hematoma can be punctured and aspirated under local anesthesia, followed by local pressure bandaging and intravenous anti-infection treatment. In severe cases, an incision for drainage may be required, and anti-infective treatment should be actively pursued during treatment. The main reason for this is that the scalp is very rich in blood flow, which can easily lead to contusions and even local vascular damage after trauma.
