Sudden chest tightness and breathlessness with pressure in the chest may be caused by physiological factors, or may be caused by pathological factors, such as coronary heart disease, pulmonary embolism, pneumothorax, etc., should be selected according to the different etiological factors of rest, emotional stabilization, medication or surgical treatment. 1. Physiological factors: some patients have chest tightness and breathlessness with a sense of pressure in the chest, which may occur after strenuous exercise, emotional excitement and other factors, generally after rest and emotional stabilization, the symptoms can be significantly relieved. 2. Pathologic factors: (1) coronary artery disease: some patients due to coronary artery stenosis caused by myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, you can improve the electrocardiogram, myocardial enzymology, or coronary angiography to clarify the cause of the disease, if the condition is mild, you can comply with the doctor’s instructions for oral treatment of drugs, such as aspirin, clopidogrel, simvastatin, isosorbide mononitrate, and so on, if the condition is more serious, you may need to coronary artery stenting surgical treatment. (2) Pulmonary embolism: most patients have a history of venous thrombosis in both lower limbs, and the embolus dislodges with the blood circulation and embolizes the pulmonary artery vessels. D-dimer and enhanced CT examination of pulmonary artery can be used to make a clear diagnosis. If the condition is mild, oral medication such as warfarin and heparin can be prescribed for treatment; if the condition is serious, it may be life-threatening and surgical treatment may be required. (3) Pneumothorax: It usually occurs in people who are thin or have a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or bronchial asthma, in which the alveoli suddenly rupture and gas enters into the pleural cavity. Chest CT or X-ray film can be used to make a clear diagnosis. If the lung compression is small, it can be treated conservatively by internal medicine; if the compression range is large or tension pneumothorax, it needs to be treated by closed thoracic drainage or surgery. When sudden chest tightness, breathlessness and chest pressure symptoms, we suggest that you go to the hospital in time to get a clear diagnosis and treatment according to the doctor’s instructions.
