How long does a viral fever last

Viral fever usually lasts for 3 to 7 days, depending on the individual’s condition, and should be treated promptly. The degree of fever triggered by viral infection varies according to the individual’s physical condition. Therefore, the duration of persistent fever cannot be generalized and there will be some differences. If a mild viral infection leads to a less severe fever and does not cause a lung infection, the fever will usually subside in about three days if the patient is treated with antiviral and antipyretic medications. However, if the fever is viral and leads to lung infection, coughing and sputum, the fever will last longer, and may last for a week or so. Viral fever, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the blood biochemistry and other related tests, to clarify the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor for symptomatic treatment.
