What is a subperitoneal hematoma?

A subperitoneal hematoma is a hematoma that forms after a renal contusion and can manifest as pain, among other things. Subpericardial hematoma is usually caused by renal contusion, the trauma is limited to part of the renal parenchyma, the formation of subpericardial hematoma, the renal pericardium and calyx and renal pelvis mucosa is intact. It can mainly manifest as lumbar and abdominal pain on the diseased side, and a small amount of hematuria can also occur; if secondary infection occurs, systemic toxic symptoms such as fever and fatigue can occur. The diagnosis is usually confirmed by ultrasonography, CT and other examinations. In general, minor subperitoneal hematoma without complications can be recovered through absolute bed rest and other treatments. Most patients can be treated with conservative treatment such as fluid infusion, and only a few serious patients need surgery.
