What causes hiccups after an intervention

The causes of hiccups after intervention may be related to the irritation of phrenic nerve, gastrointestinal disorders, diaphragmatic spasm and so on.

1. Stimulation of phrenic nerve: If the phrenic nerve is stimulated accidentally during the surgery, or the phrenic nerve is compressed by tumor or foreign body, it will be stimulated and cause hiccups after intervention.

2. Gastrointestinal disorders: after the intervention surgery, it is easy to cause gastrointestinal disorders, resulting in gastrointestinal food not being digested in time, and the bacteria in the intestines decompose and ferment the food, producing gas, which will lead to the clinical manifestation of hiccups after the intervention.

3. Diaphragmatic spasm: After the intervention surgery, the patient is cold and under mental stress, which causes diaphragmatic spasm, thus resulting in post-intervention hiccups.

When patients have hiccups after intervention, they should go to the hospital for further examination and clarify the cause under the guidance of professional doctors.
