How long does it take for irritable bowel syndrome to become cancerous?

Patients with irritable bowel syndrome generally do not develop cancer, and the disease is a functional bowel disease with no organic changes in the intestine.

The clinical manifestations of irritable bowel syndrome are abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and other intestinal discomfort symptoms, which are related to the lowering of the intestinal threshold. However, the patient’s intestines do not have organic lesions, and the mucous membrane is not inflamed, ulcerated, tumor and other changes. The disease is benign, and although the symptoms may recur and even affect the quality of life, it will not affect the patient’s general health and will not lead to the occurrence of cancer.
