Moxibustion is possible for scrotal dampness. Scrotal dampness refers to dampness, itching or even erosion of the male scrotum area and may be accompanied by frequent urination, urinary urgency, abdominal distension and other symptoms. According to Chinese medicine, it is caused by cold and dampness injected into the liver meridian or by kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang energy in the kidneys). It can be treated with moxibustion at the Ququan and Sanyinjiao points. Patients suffering from scrotal dampness show excessive sweating in the scrotum, a sticky feeling, and localized itching in the scrotum. Since the scrotum area is in a moist environment, if left untreated it will further aggravate the condition, resulting in diseases such as glansitis and scrotal dermatitis. Self-moxibustion will have certain risks, may burn the skin or take points inaccurately, in order to avoid the delay of the condition, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital for standardized treatment.
