What type of cold is a yellow runny nose?

Runny yellow nose is mostly seen in colds caused by viral infections secondary to bacterial infections.
Colds are mostly caused by viral infections, which are mainly manifested by nasal symptoms, usually clear watery nasal discharge. However, when secondary bacterial infection, the neutrophils in the nasal cavity will gather at the site of infection, phagocytosis of foreign bacteria, followed by neutrophil lysis and necrosis, these phagocytosis of bacteria and necrosis of neutrophils mixed together to form a yellow pus nasal discharge.
Treatment can be oral penicillins, macrolides such as azithromycin or quinolones such as levofloxacin depending on local epidemiologic history and experience.
If the symptoms do not improve or symptoms such as fever appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examination, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
