How to get rid of bad breath

There are many successful people who are bothered by their bad breath because it affects their social image very much. This kind of oral odor is what we usually call bad breath. How is oral odor formed? In fact, the majority of bad breath is caused by unhealthy conditions in the mouth. These include problems caused by gingivitis, dental caries (tooth decay), tartar, tobacco and tea stains, etc. The results of a free professional oral examination of more than 50,000 citizens in four cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, show that the common oral health problems of Chinese people are: tooth decay, tartar, gingivitis, and dental stains and plaque. Among these health problems, tooth decay accounts for 23.5% of the number of people examined, tartar accounts for 23% of the number of people examined, periodontitis accounts for 17.5% of the number of people examined, and dental stains and plaque accounts for 15.9% of the number of people examined. This means that basically all people have oral problems and may have oral odor due to these reasons. The root cause of these problems is that we have not developed good oral hygiene habits. Thorough cleaning of teeth is an important measure to prevent caries and periodontal diseases. The uneven surface of human teeth inevitably hides stains and dirt. So how can this oral odor be treated? This is a problem that bothers many people. For this reason, we have tried many kinds of methods. Some people use mouthwash and still very high-grade mouthwash, some people look for a variety of toothpaste, some people chew gum, but none of them work. Although we all know how to brush our teeth, we don’t know the correct way to brush, i.e. we don’t know that we should also floss and brush our teeth every day. Before that, we should also realize the importance of developing good oral hygiene habits. Our dental health is like a deposit in the bank, if we develop good health care habits when we are young, it is equivalent to deposit money inside the bank, and in old age we will have good teeth to use; but if we do not do well when we are young and do not develop good habits to protect our teeth, it is like just borrowing money from the bank to spend, and in old age we are going to pay back this debt. So it is said that oral health is in our own hands. First of all, learn the correct way to brush your teeth. Experts recommend the correct method of brushing teeth is: brush your teeth after breakfast, lunch and dinner, if there is no condition at noon you can rinse your mouth. Each brushing time is not less than 2 minutes, the brushing force should not be too strong, the toothbrush and the long axis of the teeth at an angle of 45 degrees chattering (massage gums) and complemented by vertical brushing (sweeping out food debris). Next, use dental floss and toothbrushes to clean the food debris in the crevices of the teeth every day. Especially when cleaning the area adjacent to two teeth, the toothbrush is powerless, so it is necessary to invoke the gap brush, floss and other auxiliary tools. Since toothpicks are coarse and cannot penetrate deep into the teeth, the cleaning effect is greatly reduced, and it is also easy to damage the gums. In contrast, flossing and flossing brushes can safely and effectively remove the residue in the crevices and plaque on the adjacent surfaces of the teeth. Method: When flossing, take about 30 cm of floss and knot the ends into a circle, wrap the floss around the middle finger of the left and right hand, use the index finger and the thumb of the other hand to tense the floss, cut into the gap, press the tooth surface into a “C” shape, slowly move from the root to the crown direction, scrape each tooth surface 4-6 times, and remove the attached plaque. Scrape each tooth surface 4-6 times to remove the tartar and plaque attached to the tooth surface. It is important to note that the floss should not be used with too much force to avoid damaging the gums; every time you clean a gap, move a section of floss and always use the clean floss to clean the tooth surface, so the floss is a disposable item. Korean researchers had done a special experiment to let one group of test subjects brush their tongue after brushing their teeth, while the other group did not brush. After comparing the data from the two groups, it was found that those who brushed their tongues had about twice as low oral odor parameters as those who did not brush their tongues. Food residues that remain on the tongue for a long time are prone to spoilage, which can lead to oral odor. Regular brushing of the tongue can help to freshen the breath. Although brushing the tongue can reduce oral odor, there is no particular health benefit to frequent brushing. If the tongue is often scraped hard, it can easily irritate the taste buds, damage the tongue papillae, and even lead to numbness on the back of the tongue, loss of taste, loss of appetite, and other adverse consequences. The normal human tongue should be thin white moss, if there is a lesion in the body, the thickness and color of the tongue will change, then, only by brushing the tongue is not useful, or should go to the hospital for examination, if they scrape, will affect the doctor’s diagnosis. If you don’t have a special “tongue brush”, you can use a softer, more flexible toothbrush. Don’t brush your tongue too often, just once a week. When brushing the tongue, do not use too much force, but brush the back of the tongue gently, so as not to produce pain and discomfort. Each time should not be too long, from the root of the tongue to the tip of the tongue brush 7-10 times can be. In addition, at least once every six months, you should go to professional hospital dentistry or dental clinic for dental cleaning and oral examination. It is also very important to deal with tooth decay, periodontitis and gingivitis in time! If we can do all these, our breath will not be fresh!
