Clinical manifestations include palpitation (accelerated heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), insomnia, sleeplessness and excessive dreaming, five heartburns and heatiness (heatiness in the heart of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of being irritated by heatiness in the heart and chest), and a red tongue with little fluids, and may be treated by taking Tian Tian Wang Xun Xin Pill for nourishing Yin and nourishing Blood (nourishing the blood in the body), nourishing the heart and tranquilizing the mind, which is composed of ginseng, Poria, Xuan Shen, Cyperus, jujube kernel, and Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata. The use of Guanchi Pills or Tianwang Xinxin Tonic Dan requires a Chinese medicine practitioner’s diagnosis and should not be taken by individuals on their own, as it may cause adverse effects.
