What is pubertal development?

Adolescence is the transition from a sexually naive child to a sexually mature adult and is a sequential process in which the body undergoes a series of complex and interacting physiological, psychological and physical changes. The process includes the release of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) and gonadotropin (Gn), the appearance, development and maturation of secondary sexual characteristics, accelerated growth until epiphysis healing and cessation of growth, accompanied by changes in physique and body composition, the development and maturation of sexual organs, and the eventual acquisition of reproductive functions. At the same time, mental, psychological and behavioral maturity is gradually achieved.
