Alveolar bone protrusion is mainly manifested as protruding teeth and jaw protrusion. There are three main types of alveolar bone protrusion: alveolar crest protrusion, maxillary protrusion and mandibular protrusion. There are two main causes of alveolar bone protrusion, one is caused by congenital conditions, related to genetic inheritance, invisible or dominant genes of parents, resulting in alveolar bone protrusion. The other cause is an acquired condition: (1) frequent mouth breathing, which can lead to anterior displacement of the maxilla or mandible, eventually resulting in protrusion of the alveolar bone and, in severe cases, open lips and teeth; (2) incorrect breastfeeding during infancy, which can lead to protrusion of the alveolar bone; (3) local tooth loss or malposition of the mandible during tooth replacement, which can lead to protrusion of the alveolar bone. The most correct way to correct the symptoms of protruding teeth is orthodontic or orthognathic surgery. When you do orthodontic treatment, you should have a good consultation and best preparation for orthodontic treatment. Before orthodontic treatment, you should have a dental examination, and if you have symptoms such as tooth decay, you should treat the dental disease first before orthodontic treatment. There are congenital and acquired factors for protruding teeth, but the protruding symptoms can be corrected by medical means.
