How long does it take for a wisdom tooth to hurt?

The duration of pain caused by the growth of wisdom teeth varies greatly from person to person and usually takes about 1 month. Wisdom teeth, or third molars, usually erupt between the ages of 16 and 25, and not everyone grows wisdom teeth, or all four of them. During the process of wisdom tooth eruption, due to the lack of space position, most of them will have pain, mainly in the lower jaw, which usually takes about one month, but there are large differences between individuals, and some may take half a year, or have recurrent pain, mainly caused by the wisdom teeth growing in the wrong position and not erupting normally, which can be triggered by factors such as decreased body resistance, poor oral hygiene, and mental tension. It is recommended to maintain good oral hygiene during the eruption of wisdom teeth, avoid overexertion, and exercise properly to enhance resistance. In case of recurrent pain or pericoronitis of wisdom teeth, promptly seek medical treatment. Generally, local flushing and medication can effectively relieve the pain, and if necessary, wisdom teeth can be considered for extraction to eliminate the inflammation.
