What’s wrong with the blurry eyes and the feeling of a foreign body?

Blurred and foreign body sensation in the eyes, if it is transient, is mostly due to lack of sleep. Patients who often work with cell phones and computers may initially consider visual fatigue and dry eyes. If the blurred eyes are accompanied by congestion and increased secretions, it may be acute conjunctivitis, as the secretions from acute conjunctivitis may block vision or conjunctivitis may be complicated by keratitis, where the corneal inflammation stimulates edema and even the anterior chamber reaction produces KP, which can also cause vision loss. If the eye is significantly red and swollen with a foreign body sensation, it may also be a corneal foreign body, or an impingement or entropion. Similar symptoms may also occur with uveitis and endophthalmitis. In the case of blunt contusion of the eye following trauma to the eye, the eye may also become congested, have a foreign body sensation, and have blurred vision.
