Subluxation of the radial head is most commonly seen in children and is caused when pulling on their forearms. Manipulation can be given to reset the radial head by applying pressure to the head and making a backward rotating motion of the forearm. Anesthesia is not required for the repositioning as it is mostly painless. The thumb of one hand is used to press the radial head of the elbow joint, so that the elbow joint is flexed at 90 degrees, and the other hand is used to hold the wrist and gently do anterior and posterior rotation, when the radial head is felt to pop, and the forearm can be freely moved or picked up, it means that the reset is successful. After the reset, it is necessary to pay attention to the use of a triangle towel suspension for a week, during which do not pull the forearm again, so as to avoid re-dislocation or the formation of habitual dislocation. Manipulation of radial head subluxation should be performed by a specialized physician.
