How to choose an artificial hip replacement?

1.What is an artificial joint? An artificial joint is an artificial organ designed to save a joint that has lost its function, and then to relieve the symptoms and improve the function. People have designed various artificial joints for many joints according to the characteristics of each joint in the body. Artificial joints are the most effective of the artificial organs. Among the artificial joints, hip and knee joints have the most positive results. Generally speaking, about 70% of patients can continue to use the artificial joints after about 20 years in the human body. Most prostheses have two parts: an artificial femoral head prosthesis and femoral stem prosthesis on one side, and an artificial socket cup on the other. Together, they form the new artificial hip joint. 2.Why do we need artificial joint replacement and what is the purpose of artificial joint replacement? Artificial joint replacement is to remove and trim the joint that has lost its function and place a specific artificial joint to make it functional again. Therefore, artificial joints have a wide and far-reaching significance for those patients whose joint destruction has reached an advanced stage and for whom no other treatment is available. The advent of artificial joints has made it possible to cure many joint disorders that could not be cured in the past. Many people who had lost their confidence in life have been able to regain the courage to start a new life. (1) Pain relief: to relieve pain caused by various reasons, such as pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis, joint destruction, etc.; (2) Joint stabilization: to stabilize joint instability caused by various reasons. (2) Stabilize the joint: stabilize the joint instability caused by various reasons, such as old hip dislocation, severe hip instability combined with osteoarthritis; (3) Correct the deformity: correct the joint deformity at the same time as the artificial joint surgery, so that the pre-existing deformity can be corrected and improved; (4) Improve the function of the joint: enable the joint that was previously stiff and limited in movement to move and greatly improve its function. 3.Artificial hip replacement The purpose of artificial hip replacement is to replace the severely damaged hip joint with an artificial prosthesis that can no longer be used, so that the hip joint can regain its original supporting role, stability and mobility. During the procedure, the surgeon selects the right type of prosthesis and implants it between the acetabulum and the femur. In some cases, bone cement is used to assist in the fixation of the femoral or acetabular prosthesis, while in other cases the surgeon will choose a non-cemented prosthesis, which requires the use of special instruments to accurately trim the proximal femur to precisely match the prosthesis to the femur. Bone is a growing living tissue and if the surface of the prosthesis is covered with a layer of metal pores or a hydroxyphosphate coating that facilitates bone ingrowth, it forms a porous surface that is in close contact with the living bone tissue, which grows into the pores and locks the prosthesis in place. Porous surface hip prostheses have been used for many years with good clinical results. The choice of prosthesis is determined by the surgeon based on a number of factors such as the age of the patient, the shape of the femur, the quality of the bone, and the number of surgeries.
