Childhood rabies patients show fear and anxiety, muscle spasm, and ultimately death during seizures, which are clinically categorized into the prodromal, excitation, and paralysis phases. 1. Prodromal stage: often accompanied by low fever, headache, sensitivity to sound, light and other stimuli and a sense of throat tightness. 2. Excitatory phase: manifested as high excitement, fear and restlessness. Fear of water characterizes the disease, but not always. Typical patients are thirsty but afraid to drink, the sight of water or mention of water can cause severe spasm of the pharyngeal muscles. 3. Paralysis: muscle spasm stops, turning into a state of generalized delayed paralysis, and ultimately death due to respiratory and circulatory failure. Rabies death rate is very high, so if infected with rabies virus, should be hospitalized in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
