Are apical lung nodules serious?

The severity of an apical nodule depends on the cause of the nodule’s formation. It is a clinically common disease of the lungs, and the nodules are mainly formed by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is not a serious disease and can be completely cured in about 6-9 months through early treatment with standardized combination of anti-tuberculosis drugs. If the apical nodules are biopsied by bronchial fiber endoscopy for pathological examination, it is clear that the nodules are malignant, that is, bronchial lung cancer, which is more serious and requires early surgical removal, supplemented by radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment to cure.
